Wed Nights (by Rob)

Wednesday night is not my night. American Idol, Men In Trees, Project Runway. None of MY shows are on. My night is Thursday (LOST).

You've seen the new bedroom pics. Well, we can't move in until the adjacent bathroom and laundry rooms are clean. Because Mary's sick, the cleaning is my job.

We hired a cleaning company once. They came in a day and cleaned the entire house including the windows. They did an awesome job. I've spent part of four days cleaning the laundry room and it's only 80% done.

Someday, we'll be in our new bedroom, but for right now, we're still in the guest room. Marti and Terry are coming this weekend. I hope I get it all taken care of, or we'll be on the couch.

P.S. Mary's a little better, but still has a cough. And Fibromyalgia.

Stop Junk Mail. Save Trees. (by Mary)

No, this isn't an advertisement that Blogger made us post. Greendimes is a company I heard about on Oprah last year, so I signed up for it. It has reduced our junk mail drastically, and we have stopped receiving catalogs that we don't care to receive. Now, if I could just get them to stop having "Accent" delivered to our doorknob once a week...

Snow's Coming (by Rob)

We're supposed to get 6 inches by tomorrow afternoon. Which is frustrating. Not because I'll have to shovel. That's actually fun. It's because Mary has had the worst luck.

Not only is Mary got this fibromyalgia and all of her muscles are sore, now she's got some sort of flu. And, with every cough, she's straining her muscles. Last night she work me at 4:30 with a coughing fit. I expected a lung to flop out onto the floor! But she slept all day and is feeling better. She was going to try and go into work tomorrow - but now we're going to be loaded with snow. She can still go, but it'll take twice as long to drive there, she'll have to trudge through to snow during the walk from her car. It's not worth it.

Me? I'll make it to work no problem. It'll be a fun adventure. If I fish-tail, that'd be alright with me! I'm only 2 miles away, so it'll be easy. But I've recommitted myself to running (I've slacked off since the wedding). I'm going to be running a half marathon in Rockford with Jamie, Dot, and Brian. I can't miss running tomorrow, so I'll be running in two inches of soft powder.

Our New Master Bedroom

While we were away on our honeymoon, our master bedroom was remodeled. The ceiling and two walls were drywalled, the closet was widened and cedar panels were added, and laminate wood flooring was installed. We'll be sleeping in here soon!

Sick as a dog (by Mary)

I have been stuck in bed all weekend with a cold-like flu (versus stomach flu). I did not get anything done that was on my to-do list, so I thought I would get our blog moving along. BTW, why couldn't I be this sick during the work week? Being sick on your free time is the worst. I have a good work ethic, I just get a huge amount of sick leave that I could spare :)

Speaking of sick leave, I should share with all of you that last week I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Most of you know that I have been experiencing chest pain since the wedding. I had several tests done on my heart, blood tests to check my thyroid and for arthritis, and a cat scan to check for a blood clot. The tests were all normal, but the drugs my doctor prescribed to me for muscle inflammation did not provide me with any relief. I have many of the other symptoms, including overly-tender trigger points on my body. I'm not taking any medication for this yet- I am going to try alternative approaches first. I was supposed to join a gym this weekend, but I have the flu to blame for that.

I thought I had figured out how to share photos with everyone via picassa, but this it is not working now. Rob and I will figure something else out...

To tide you over, our wedding photographer, Lisa Wilcox, just sent us a slideshow of some of our wedding photos. She cut off the "y" in my name, but it is still worth watching.

I'm rooting for Juno at tonight's Academy Awards. Rob and I are going to watch the red carpet in a few minutes.

Blog Virgins

Now that Rob and I are back from our honeymoon, we think it is a great idea for us to maintain a blog. This way, we only have to tell our stories once!

We had a fabulous time on our honeymoon. We doubt we'll go on another cruise just the two of us, but it would be fun to go with a group of friends or on a family trip. Our favorite parts were our balcony suite, watching the NCL's version of the "Newlywed Game," and snorkeling in Cozumel. The most emotional part of the trip was when Rob got to the top of the climbing wall, after begging to quit halfway through.

Miami was perfect. We ordered in Chinese, laid by the pool, took advantage of the in-room jacuzzi tub, and read many books. Rob read "Pillars of the Earth," an Oprah Book Club selection, and I read about five chick-lit books (fiction about single women in their 20s or 30s).

We hope to post pictures soon- once I figure this blog thing out.
