Love to Read!

Rosalie is learning a bunch of new baby skills, including grabbing and feeling different textures. Here she is enjoying her first 'taggie' book from the Lawns. I think we have a future bookworm!

Here is a picture of Rosalie wearing her Baby Guess overalls for the first time. Too cute for words! Thank you, Ida, for such beautiful clothes!

11 Weeks and Thumbs

When Rob picked Rosalie up at "school" today, he was informed that Rosalie found her thumb. I have not witnessed this since I've been home from work, but Rob has extensive video footage of her sucking away. We think we'll try a pacifier soon, once we diagnose the frequency of the thumb-sucking.

We enjoyed some time outside today during the beautiful weather. I got to take some great photos, and I now have a new Rosalie favorite. Thankfully, she kept her thumb out of her mouth for the photo :)

New Hat

Rosalie wore a new hat on our walk today. Thanks, Janice, for the custom knits! We knew Rosalie was cute, but the ruffle hats by Janice really maximize her cuteness :) Or is this just my mother's bias?

Is Rob A Fugitive?

Monticello police are looking for a "person of interest" in two bank robberies (Monticello and Mahomet). Does the police artist sketch look familiar?

Fresh Air (by Mary)

Rosalie and I took advantage of the spring-like weather today and went for a walk with Jamie, Mallory, and Declan. Here's a photo of Rosalie getting used to the natural light- which, as a winter baby, she hasn't had much of! We know spring is right around the corner because tulip and daffodil stems are already making appearances.

Check Up (by Mary)

Rosalie and I are at the doctor's office. I got nervous about her cough this morning and decided to stay home with her this morning, and have a doctor listen to her lungs and check her ears. She just weighed in at 11 lbs 11.5 oz and here she is playing a little before the doc arrives.

Blogging Style (by Mary)

I often think of blog ideas throughout the day when I don't have a chance to write a post. Rob figured out a way for me to send posts to our blog from my cell phone. Hopefully I'll use this new technology so that I can post pictures of Rosalie more frequently! I've used it for the past few posts- you may have noticed the photo isn't the highest quality, but you're getting to see more of them!

PS Because so many of my friends are having babies, and posting their baby photos to facebook, I have decided to pull my ban on FB. I will be reactivating my account soon, for the primary purpose of ogling your baby pics. Just need to commit the time to deleting a whole bunch of people first :)

Rosalie's 1st Cough

It has been a hard weekend for Rosalie, but I think even harder for us. She's had a cough that wakes her up in her sleep, and even led to some vomit yesterday. I (Mary) tense up every time she coughs- nervous that she is having trouble breathing. Between saline drops and the aspirator, Rosalie has been her usual heart-warming self, though. As evidenced in this picture of her on my lap.

Oh how time goes by so quickly (by Mary)

I was going through the picture album on my phone, and found this picture of Rosalie when she was 11 days. She was so small!
While I would love to relive some moments from her teenier days, I'm trying to enjoy each of her phases to the fullest. She's really starting to smile socially and she's starting to respond with 'coo' noises when I make noises to her during her alert time. It is also nice that her neck can support her head and she goes longer stretches between feedings!
Today was a beautiful day - 62 degrees and sunny! We took Rosalie for a walk at Meadowbrook Park in Urbana.

So Grown Up

Mary sent me this photo of Rosalie in her swing, ready to go to daycare.

Monday, Mary returned to work; she's working half-days from 8a-12p for the next few weeks. It's been a hard transition because daycare is win/lose. Win - Rosalie becomes a more social child and the transition to school is easy since she's already been going to "school." Lose - The lady at daycare spends more time with Rosalie than her parents do. There's nothing worse than watching Rosalie flash the biggest smile of the day when she sees the daycare lady.
